Professor Edith Gray
Edith specialises in family demography, particularly childbearing and family formation in high-income countries. She is skilled in the analysis of survey, longitudinal and population data, and has been a Chief Investigator on six ARC Discovery Projects. She has worked collaboratively with organisations such as Australian Treasury and Defence, and has held positions on the Department of Health Ethics Committee and the Centre for Population Expert panel. She is a Council member of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population and the Asian Population Association, and is National Convenor of the 2025 International Population Conference in Brisbane.
Professor James Raymer
Specialises in study of spatial demographic processes and applying demographic models to predict migration patterns and population change. He has published over 80 works in top academic journals and secured funding for eight major competitive grants, collaborating with international and interdisciplinary teams. His consultancy work includes projects with the European Commission, United Nations, the Australian Capital Territory Government and the Northern Territory Government. He teaches courses on migration, spatial population analysis, and population projections.
